Torrey's sensual white sheet shoot6/2/2021 My friend and client Torrey is amazing. She creates content for various adult sites and comes to me to get some of that content shot. The nice thing about using different photographers for content creation is that you get different styles and looks.
For this shoot I was getting used to poses on the air mattress and just the white sheets. I think she nailed it and I love how it turned out. Keep in mind that nudity is always to YOUR preference. It can be implied or show some or all... it's all up to you. And remember.. even if we do shoot it, it doesn't mean you have to choose those images. Make sure to Follow her PolyCougar on IG and here is her main link to find her on all socials direct.me/polycougar

Hair and makeup for boudoir shoots...5/28/2021 This was something I struggled with.. whether or not to make getting hair and make up a requirement. I kind of felt like it was what people were wanting from a more luxury experience when having a shoot like this done. I polled clients asking what they would expect as part of a luxury experience and that was one of the top things. The problem is though that I don't feel like a woman needs to have those things to feel gorgeous in her skin. It's about the experience I'm providing and how comfortable they feel while in the studio and then having that feeling linger long after they leave. Also since I shoot men having hair/makeup built into my base price seemed kind of shitty. So instead I ask the client if it's something they would like to have added on. How have you felt when you've seen the Before/After's if you follow other photographers? Do you think 'ohhh look how much of a transformation?' or maybe you think 'I never wear makeup and I'm not sure how I feel about having a shoot that doesn't really show me for me' or even perhaps 'I'm getting this done for my partner and they won't like all that stuff on my face' here are two examples of friends who've I've done the makeup as a test for myself. I realized after that I chose green for both of them LOL but it's because their eyes had green that I wanted to bring out. There are many things I think people think and all of them of course are valid. At the end of the day I want you to feel amazing in your skin. If you come in bare faced, hair in a messy bun (or sticking straight up like mine does when it's crazy) and that makes you feel sexy and amazing, then I say fuck everyone else! Lets rock this shoot! HOWEVER if you like to do your own hair and makeup here are some key things to note: You can do a more natural look which is completely ok but know that the camera will not show you've done much. Meaning if you want to make your makeup seem more vibrant or bold then you need to go WAY BOLDER than you think. Honestly I realize that most people would think they look like an escort on the side of a shady street.. but it won't look like that in images. Here are some tips for basic makeup - use a bit of concealer or powder mineral base to balance out skin tone redness - mascara with 2 layers of coverage (my fav is Covergirl in the orange tube black/brown) - have some kind of lip tint. I personally use a lip liner to cover my entire lips. it's easier to apply than lipstick and lasts longer. I do not put a gloss over it for shoots because gloss can make it smear more easily If you'd like more bold - do a dark base eyeshadow at the outer corners and work it towards the middle of the lid then add your more vibrant pop of color in the middle and blend. add a third color above those two in the crease, blend and then a lighter 'highlight' at your brow and the inner eye - use false lashes.. I say this.. and yet I can't do them myself.. it takes practice from what I've heard LOL - use a bold and darker lip color For Hair: here's the thing with hair.. we are gonna mess it up.. like A LOT! so don't worry about it too much. You can do your normal thing or if you'd like to add some curl that works too. I tend to go for a more tousled look. So nothing tucked behind your ears and all polished.. yeah no.. we are going for 'you've just been kissed, touched, maybe fucked' look. so hands in hair and disheveled most times. we tend to start off more put together of course.. but it soon devolves LOL short haired people like me have even less to mess with.. but we can still make stuff happen look wise. Same with men with whatever hair style you might have. So I tend to say not too much product unless you really don't want hands in hair (which is ok, just let me know from the get go) I might add some makeup tutorials at some point so you all can see how I do my makeup for a shoot. How does that sound? I also offer wigs.. and they are AMAZING! take a look at this video that shows off the ones I have. It's about 15 min long people may not know the difference between Boudoir, kink and erotica so I wanted to discuss the nuances of them. Boudoir - the images captured for boudoir can vary in the level of sexiness and nudity. The level of these is always based on the client's preference. Some people want to be in some kind of clothing the whole session with a portion of their body covered at all times, either with lingerie, shirt, dress, blanket/sheets etc.. and some people want to get fully nude and of course there is the mix. Most people will be a mix and will do an implied or partial nude with blanket/sheet. Bouidoir even for couples shoots have no sex involoved and rarely is there even kissing if women are in the shoot because of makeup getting messed up. With couples sometimes if there is a woman/man set up the woman may be nude but the man will still have his undies on because there is no penetration of digits of any kind. It’s all an implied sexual feel. The shoot can for sure still be steamy and can tell a story in the body language. I tend to shoot more in a voyeuristic fashion to allude to the feel of the viewer of the images having come across the person as they passed by the room. Some people can flirt with the camera very well and if they do then I will have them look at the camera more often. However many people have a challenge with it so we find other ways for them to look coy, sexy, vulnerable. Kink - shoots for kink will tend to flow from a variety of BDSM areas. There are SSSOOO many kinks out there that I can not list them all. Many people however are not necessarily into the BDSM lifestyle but like the idea of things like:
Kink shoots can be a bit more risque and depending on what the client wants done additional waivers may need to be signed as consent to what will be taking place either by themselves or with a partner. There is a level of trust with many of these kinks which I respect and observe. Erotica - My erotica shoots start off doing normal boudoir that leads to a more serious flirty nature and then to sex. This can be with a single person self pleasuring in whatever fashion they want, to a couple doing various forms of sex (oral, penetration with toys, fingers/hands, genitals) and of course groups doing all the things above. Erotica shoots can have a range of shots being done from focusing on up close and personal detail shots of body parts, to wide shots that showcase all that is happening. When the erotica portion starts I will have an idea already (from discussing with the client/s in advance and the day of) of what they are wanting to achieve from the shoot. The boudoir portion has likely led them to a point of high desire and they are ready to make things happen. So when I say ‘go for it’ I let them do what they want and am that fly on the wall and move around them to get the shots. It can happen that I may ask them to pause or slightly shift, but it’s rare. I want them to feel like they are in their bubble as much as possible. I have found that a lot of photographers in my industry won’t shoot erotica. It’s something they don’t feel comfortable with for many reasons, which I can respect. I love being open about sex and am very body and sex positive. Being able to capture moments for cleint/s that allow them to see themselves in a sexy new light is inspiring. I want them to yearn for the other person when they see the images and get that feeling in their gut that makes them want to rush over and devour their partner all over again. want to see more? warning it is more explicit spark.adobe.com/page/sNuCVyEaTctEs/ My goal personally is to be shooting boudoir kink and erotica in luxury destinations all over the world. Working with sex and couples thereapists who to retreats, swinger resorts, clubs and hotels and anyone else who may be interested in having me be an add on to their event.
Shooting erotica in Colorado Springs is a great location because it’s central to the state and an easy drive for many people even if they fly into Denver. So what are you waiting for? Reach out and book your preferred session today! I'm SO honored to be recognized!4/16/2021 Sometimes we toil away wondering if what we do as an artist will ever be recognized.. many of us do it because we have a passion for it, and some for money, and a few of us do it because of both reason. I'm one of the latter people. I have a passion for helping people feel amazing during their sessions and have lasting images they can look at for the rest of their lives, and also to hopefully come back to have it done again because it was such an epic time. However I am also a business owner, so I know the value in what I create for my clients.
When I got an email saying that I was featured on a blog post for the top 7 boudoir photographers in Colorado Springs I was a bit taken aback and thrilled!!!!! I want RGA Phogtography to be one of the top saught after boudoir sessions someone can book here in Colorado Springs, to also have people travel to me and pay for me to come to them to have a session. Peerspace also featured some other artists I know which is so awesome to see. Peerspace did such a wonderful job at capturing the essence of how each of our looks work with people and how we use our craft to help our clients feel amazing. To say I’m thrilled is not enough to express my joy. I’m so honored to be recognized 💜 www.peerspace.com/resources/boudoir-photographers-colorado-springs/ below is my image they chose as the lead image for their article! Male Boudoir in Colorado Springs4/14/2021 Do men get boudoir sessions?
This is a topic of debate in my creative world of photographers. There is a term called 'Dudeoir' and most of the images from that type of shoot tend to be campy, silly and are not shoots that seem to be taking the session too serisouly. And that is completely ok if someone wants to pay for a shoot like that. However I feel like sessions for men are just like they are for women. Men want to feel sexy, they many times want to show off their masculine side, but also get in touch with their feminine side and show a softer side. Because of that I tend to do poses that many times I will also do with women. I coach them in how to use their hands to touch themselves, how to turn their head/face, facial expressions.. it's all really the same. I do however tend to also have at least one outfit as part of the session that is them fully clothed and taking it off. This could be jeans and a shirt, a suit, dress pants/shirt.. etc.. I feel like there is something super sexy about a man taking off thier clothes. With my female clients we don't tend to have that outfit in the mix unless it's something they specifically request. Maybe the difference is with men we don't get to see them do this step slowly.. so there is something more erotic about it. That they are taking the time to slowly undress for the viewer. Men also have the same insecurities as women. They want to accentuate certain areas of the body and hide others. The dynamic is in my posing direction and of course the camera angles are also the same for them as for women. Men's boudoir is something I feel more men are looking to do. It's a great self confidence boost and makes them leave feeling on top of the world. Clohing suggestions for male clients: Jeans Favorite tshirt dress pants button down shirt suit (I personally love men in dress pants, button down and a vest) boxer briefs (cause we want to show off that booty!) jock strap undies sassy styled undies sunglasses hats uniform (if that is part of your work or kink) kink based outfits (if you are into a certain kink) and of course nude is always an option! We can drape blankets, sheets etc.. if you only want to show off certain things. Here are links to some sexy undie suppliers if you don't know where to look.. and don't forget - YOU DO NOT NEED TO HAVE A PERFECT BODY! there are different styles to fit a wide range of bodies just like for women. the point of getting something different is to feel a bit bold and sexy www.hisroom.com/mens-sexy-underwear.aspx www.mensuas.com/collections/mens-sexy-underwear www.malepower.com/product-category/bikinis/ and to give you some inspiration here are a few examples of men I've shot for male boudoir in Colorado Springs :) What gets you revved up?4/6/2021 ,There are a lot of things that can effect creativity and just having some gumption to make shit happen.
Many times being a creative comes with a load of struggles.. in my other business I get online orders that I need to complete, but with boudoir photography there can be times when I don’t have as many clients or even when I do have them I still struggle with wanting to switch things up but not knowing how. There is a yearning inside me to make new things, test new ways to shoot, maybe move my sets around and spice things up.. but there is a block. With 2020 I wasn’t able to do some of the things that I might normally do.. like go on a trip and visit friends, or go somewhere alone and explore. Coming back refreshed and invigorated. So those blocks for the last 15 months have been there but I’ve been a bit more apathetic. This last week of March 2021 I FINALLY was able to get away. I went on a retreat for boudoir photographers held by my friends at Boudoir Exposed. We converged in New Orleans (a new place for me) and we learned more about the business side of things as well as posing. The last day was especially exciting because it was a free day and we all decided to stay at the house and shoot each other. Granted it wasn’t like normal sessions, but it allowed us to practice some of the things we had just learned and for me personally it was the first time I had been shot by other people. I now know more about how you my clients feel. When I was asked to be in a pose then close my eyes and didn’t hear anything I wondered Did she get the shot? Do I need to stay put? Should I move myself differently on my own or wait? My body isn’t comfortable... I can’t hold this much longer.. Then I’d peek my eyes open and look lol Again because these were not normal sessions it was different. We each kind of got lost in various things and forgot to communicate sometimes. But I know these things can happen with regular sessions too. It was actually one of the key things I was worried about when I started shooting. And it’s something I will be even more aware of now that’s I myself have experienced it. I’m writing this post while we are heading in to land in Denver and I’ve been thinking about the things I learned, the energy I felt being around other people in my field. The patience they had for me still learning my new camera felt like diving into the deep end and having very little knowledge of how to swim. They explained things many times and never got frustrated. I push myself a lot and it shows. I also don’t like to give up. Because of that drive I was able to get some amazing shots this week and I’m excited to start sharing those with you all, some of which are below. I have a renewed since of energy, passion and creativity running through me and the apathy for the moment has receded and I’m making plans to help that not come back for a very long time. So with all that being said, tell me what do YOU do to get your mojo back? I’d love to hear from you! What gets you revved up? AuthorJennifer is the owner and photographer behind RGA Photography.
